SmartSearch Online - Technology

SmartSearch Online is a comprehensive web-based recruiting solution. Features include: complete applicant tracking supporting the entire hiring process, powerful reporting capabilities, contact management, a variety of searching tools and resources, integration with Microsoft Outlook, flexible communication capabilities and extensive customization capabilities.

SmartSearch Online is based upon the Microsoft suite of products. The program is hosted on Microsoft Advanced Server running Internet Information Server (4.0 or 5.0.). Microsoft Index server and Transaction server are loaded on the web server.

The database utilized by SmartSearch Online is Microsoft SQL Server. Our approach places these services on a second server which allows for effective load balancing.

The program was developed using Active Server Pages with Vbscript on the server side and limited JavaScript on the client side. Additional tools used include proprietary COM objects that run on the transaction server providing a robust three tier application. In addition, two optional, client side ActiveX controls may be downloaded for integration with Outlook and internal RTF editing capabilities.
