SmartSearch Online - Reporting
Easy, effective and flexible reporting has always been a hallmark of SmartSearch Online. Our extremely well
conceived and highly evolved database structure, the product of over 18 years development, provides the framework
for the creation of a virtually unlimited variety of reports. Reports detailing performance measurement, diversity
and compliance, sourcing effectiveness and up to the minute statistics on hiring activities to name just a few
are quickly available using our easy to use reporting tools.
Reporting Tools Not Lists of Canned Reports
Rather than laundry lists of canned reports, we provide a robust reporting tool. Users can choose topics such
as Job Activity, Candidate Information, EEO amongst others and then specify parameters such as date ranges, user,
source, activity type and so on. By including variables at run time as opposed to simplistic canned reports, users
are able to produce literally hundreds of ad-hoc style reports. Output formats include Word, Excel, RTF,
Data Interchange Format, and a variety of delimited text options.
Report modifications and new custom reports can be added to the system for an additional charge.
Appropriate Access to Reports
In SmartSearch Online each user is assigned a report access level. Then, based on that level, the user will be
offered an appropriate selection of reports. Report level is set in the user’s record, choices are: company,
group (region), branch or individual. Each user will only have access to appropriate reports AND data for their
reporting level.
Graphs
In addition to the more complex reports available using our reporting tool, users can also quickly generate
color-coded graphs on a variety of topics. Once created the graphs can be printed or easily distributed via
email. The content of the graphs is automatically tailored to the user’s report level and users can generate
graphs of:
Job Actions (interviews, offers, etc.)
Number of persons currently employed
Advanced Ad-hoc Reporting
SmartSearch Online can also accommodate customers who desire to generate reports and other output from the
database directly using third party reporting tools like Crystal Report Writer. By taking advantage of our
“Direct Connection” option customers data is stored on their independent servers that, although housed in
our server farm, are available as part of their own internal network. Advanced users can then access the SQL database
directly. Using this approach, customers can create unlimited ad-hoc reports and can query the database directly
rather than go through the SmartSearch Online interface. You will also have the ability to move data directly
from the database to other system on your network thus opening the door to data integration with third party systems.
